Promotion of LGBTQI+ and Persons with Disabilities (PwD)
The promotion of LGBTQI+ and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) rights is a critical component of advancing inclusion and equality in Timor-Leste. To this end, Plan International (PI), in collaboration with Arcoiris and the Association of Persons with Disabilities of Timor-Leste (AHDMTL), is organizing an international conference to share lessons learned from this action and promote the rights of LGBTQI+ individuals and PwD. This conference will bring together key stakeholders, beneficiaries, and international participants to foster dialogue, collaboration, and advocacy for inclusive development. The duration of the International Conferences will be 2 days to be held in Dili. The tentative date for the inception conferences will be 15 and 16 May 2025.
Workshops in Dili, Liquica, Baucau & Oecusse
Arcoiris is organizing a series of workshops in Dili, Liquica, Baucau, Oecusse and Ermera in the month of May and June 2025. It is aiming at sharing the key findings of the Wellness research on LGBTIQ community in Timor Leste’ was launched last month. We are expecting not only to share the findings but also to make use of the opportunity to sensitize the LGBTIQ community members, family members, local authority and service providers on SOGIESC and human rights.These workshops will be held in local schools, chefe Sucos salaun and other available safe places. These activities will be supported jointly by Women Fund Asia, INDIGO Foundation and Andrew McNaughton Foundation.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan (MEL)
Arcoiris TL is planning to organize a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan (MEL) workshop for its team members. This two day workshop is scheduled on 12-13 June 2025. This workshop will be delivered by members of the ‘Feto Hamutuk’, an Australian based group of dedicated and highly qualified women. This will be a self sponsored workshop organised by ‘Feto Hamutuk’ group.
